About the Artwork

Tree Museum No. 3 is part of a series of photographs by artist Neil McWee. He took these images at the Arboretum near the University of Washington in Seattle. Joni Mitchell lyrics from the song "Big Yellow Taxi" inspired the title. The series celebrates and advocates for the preservation of state and national parks. Capturing the vivid colors of fall, this piece features a detailed patchwork of red and yellow Japanese maple leaves.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Stanwood-Camano School District.
