About the Artwork

Sedimentary Sculpture is a photograph by artist Earl Olsen. The image was taken at Shore Acres State Park on the Oregon Coast. The artist notes that to capture this composition, he set up a tripod and waited “for the right combination of afternoon sunlight and ocean fog.”

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Grandview School District.

About the Artist

Northwest photographer Earl Olsen creates his images to "see the unseen in the commonplace that surrounds us every day." He lives and works on Whidbey Island, Northwestern Washington.
