In Flower Shop street photographer Kenneth Allison captures the reflection of a street scene against a window display of arranged flowers. He interplays the light and shadow of the two scenes to create a mysterious image.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Seattle Public Schools.

About the Artist

Seattle-based artist Kenneth Allison works as a street photographer to capture the meaning and beauty of public spaces and urban environments. In his own words, "I’m fascinated by the process of photography; how it can bring together and compress all of the disparate elements of a street scene."
Allison studied photography at the University of Illinois. He moved to Seattle in 1972 after graduation and has lived and worked there ever since.
