The Summit, 1982
Bob Leader
American (born 1952, died 2009)
Location: Summit Trail Middle School, Ravensdale
About the Artwork
Artist Bob Leader painted The Summit after hiking in Glacier National Park, Montana, in early summer. He notes, "This section of the range of mountains depicted has an awesome quality which I hoped the viewer of this painting can share with me. As the clouds move, the shadows and lights constantly shift, yet the massive forms of the mountains are stoically fixed, rooted in the millions of millennia, which have given them existence."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Tahoma School District.
