About the Artwork

This mural by artist Terrence Buckendorf celebrates Spokane's downtown landmarks. The detailed composition features Spokane River Falls as viewed from below the falls. In the background are images of the 1974 World's Fair Pavilion at Riverfront Park, the Washington Water Power building, and a third building that is no longer standing. The artist notes, "The scene is intended to commemorate the spirit of progress and growth in harmony with the natural beauty and resources of the Spokane Area."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Community Colleges of Spokane.
