Points Aligned, 1990
Suzi Hokonson
American (born 1945)
Location: Court of Appeals, Division I, Seattle
About the Artwork
Artist Suzi Hokonson hand-quilted Points Aligned using a traditional quilting method and design called "Off-Centered Log Cabin." The small red squares in the quilt traditionally symbolize the chimney of a fireplace. She notes, "The lighter grays are symbolic of the happy occurrences in life while the darker grays remind us of the sad, burdensome times. Together, with the touch of red surrounding the piece, life is beautiful."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Administrative Office of the Courts.
