The Tool Using Animal by artist Bill Whipple celebrates the evolution of our use of tools and our processes of design. Installed outside of the drafting workshop at Franklin High School, this piece shares its theme with Whipple's Metal Mural installation.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Seattle Public Schools.

About the Artist

Northwest artist Bill Whipple creates viewer-activated sculptures made of various materials including wood and metal. He lives and works in Seattle, Washington. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Washington in 1970.
