About the Artwork

Night Flight is an expressive painting by artist Jo Fyfe. The imagery captures the artist’s experience watching two young Bald Eagles hunt for prey, while she fished on the water late into the evening. She notes, “What power, what beauty, what magnificence… It has never been my intention to try to capture the visual reality of nature, that is impossible. It is more important that I try to create an inner spirit and essence of an experience allowing the viewer to bring their own experiences to an image.”

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Enumclaw School District.
