About the Artwork

'Primavera en Vallarta (Springtime in Vallarta)' is a richly detailed, realistic landscape painting by artist Heleodoro Heras. It depicts the pacific coastline and vibrant bougainvillea blossoms found in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Heras hopes that this piece captures the charm of the old tiled houses, which "give the illusion that time as passed her by."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Bremerton School District.

About the Artist

Heleodoro Heras is a Washington-based artist and illustrator. Born in Mexico, Heras emigrated to America as a teenager and graduated from Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles after military service. His realistic portraits and figurative paintings are inspired by frequent visits to Mexico.
