About the Artwork
Artist Morgan Harlow creates representational paintings and prints exploring "compassionate realism" and the stories we find ourselves creating when we view art. Observing turns the subject's gaze onto the viewer. It is an invitation to make a unique connection and shape one's own interpretive narrative.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Seattle Public Schools.
About the Artist
Seattle-based artist Harlow Morgan creates narrative and figurative paintings and prints. Her work explores what she terms "compassionate realism" and the unique stories we imagine when we view art. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Art from Antioch University in San Francisco in 1983.
