Mark Calderon's vessel, created for Bellevue College, slowly fills with rain water until it reaches its tipping point. It empties and then rights itself to continue in perpetual motion.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Bellevue College.

About the Artist

Seattle-based artist Mark Calderon creates abstract and conceptual sculptures, installations, prints, and works on paper. He uses his art to explore nature, death, religion, and ancient cultures and societies. Many of his artwroks have an "ancient look" to them.
Calderon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in printmaking from San Jose State University in California.
