About the Artwork
Created using photographic oil paint applied to an infrared photograph, Oak Alley explores the symbolism of portals and arches, and their reference to transition, enlightenment, and change. Capturing 300 year old oak trees near the Mississippi river in Louisiana, artist Patricia Ridenour reflects on her "awareness of the many generations of people these trees have observed."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Renton School District.
