About the Artwork
Circle Dance is part of artist Terry Furchgott's body of figurative paintings that explore the theme of connection and relationships among ethnically and culturally diverse people. The composition is based on several photographs taken of friend's children playing, and Furchgott notes that the "symbols of the circle, the clasped hands...evoke a sense of unity which transcends race, sex, or culture."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Puyallup School District.
