About the Artwork

Artist Lee Musgrave created the surreal and richly detailed painting Sometimes I live in the Country, Sometimes I live in Town. It is part of a body of work exploring humanity's connectivity to nature in the context of our growing technological isolation from it. The composition of this piece references ideas of fragility and balance.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Quillayute Valley School District.

About the Artist

Born in Perth, Australia, artist Lee Musgrave spent his childhood in Southern California. He received his Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Northridge and his Master of Arts from California State University, Los Angeles. His work reflects a lifelong interest in the relationship between human development and the natural world.
