Kelp was taken by photographer Carolyn D. Hoffman on the beach on Calvert Island, British Columbia, Canada. The composition features two superimposed images and was processed to increase the detail of shadowed areas. This technique highlights the subtle textures of the natural landscape.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Stanwood-Camano School District.
