About the Artwork

Artist J. Elizabeth Santone created the figurative watercolor Parked to show that even a parking lot can be filled with action. The composition is populated with many figures and hidden details. She describes the parking lot next to a park as “so delightful. There seems to be so much going on. You can have lunch, walk your dog, play a little basketball or even fix your car. It’s a democratic kind of place, attracting everyone.”

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Spokane Public Schools.
