About the Artwork

In and Out of Reason is a print by conceptual artist Yong Soon Min. The artwork combines and incorporates many different printing techniques: from aquatint to spit bite to photo etching, as well as experimental photocopy ink tranfer processes. At the top, you can see the small figure of the artist diving into a darkly colored, chaotic mass. This composition highlights and critiques ideas of control and exploration in the creative process.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Tacoma Community College.
