David Haidle

American (born 1944)

David Haidle is a printmaker and painter. He is most known for combining traditional lithography printing with computer-generated graphics in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
A native of Spokane, Eastern Washington, Haidle studied graphic design at Spokane Valley Community College. He continued his studies in painting and printmaking at Portland State University and Pacific Northwest College of Art (both in Portland, Oregon). He served in the U.S. Armed Forces as an illustrator from 1966-69, in Vietnam and Europe. In 1987, Haidle shifted his focus to creating children's books, and he co-founded Seed Faith Books. He lives and works in Portland, Oregon.
