Wall Relief, 1985

Geoffrey Pagen
American (born 1951)

Location: Rocky Ridge Elementary, Graham

About the Artwork

With 23 individual ceramic elements, the linear sculpture Wall Relief is part of artist Geoffrey Pagen's investigation into abstract geometric forms, glazed and unglazed surfaces, and the interaction of color. Each ceramic component was fired using a "Raku" technique, in which unglazed areas turn gray and black from smoke.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Bethel School District.
