About the Artwork
Mountains and Shooting Stars #3 is part of artist Karen Guzak's series of four etchings that depict her childhood memories of the Colorado landscape. On the composition of this piece, Guzak notes: "the edges are worked like a tapestry to create an enclosure or border for the internal energy and space."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Lake Washington Institute of Technology.
About the Artist
Karen Guzak runs an artist studio in Snohomish, AngelArmWorks, renovated from a historic church. She has taught art at Seattle Pacific University and acted as president of the board of Artist Trust. She has committed herself to art, public service, and yoga.
