About the Artwork

New Wave One and New Wave Two are stained glass panels created by artist Douglas Hansen for Gig Harbor High School. Installed in two windows in the main entrance, he created the panels using hand-blown glass. He notes, "Highlight color of light blue and brown amber was used to accent curved shapes. The windows denote breaking waves in an abstract form."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Peninsula School District.
