About the Artwork
Traces of Taj #15 is part of artist Karen Guzak’s series of prints made in memorial to her friend, late artist Taj Worley. She printed the series on handmade papers created by Worley. The compositions feature abstract fields of color, energetic marks, and symbols. Guzak notes that the imagery hints at musical notation, or a secret language. She states, “The layers build a density of tone and color that creates a dynamic and lively balance, muck like a musical fugue – a fugue to honor my friend, Taj.”
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Pasco School District.
