About the Artwork
VaCATion is part of artist Kathleen Coyle's group of mixed-media artworks that combine textile elements with wax-resist painting, printing, and collaged elements. These works feature cat and fish motifs in what Coyle calls "a union of unlikely pairs". In this whimsical composition, the cat and fish sunbathe and swim on a brightly colored tropical beach scene.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Yakima School District.
