About the Artwork

Twenty-nine Views of Mt. Rainier is a watercolor painting that depicts a view of Mount Rainier as seen from the Hood Canal Bridge. Created by artist Linda Okazaki, the composition references historic Japanese artist Hiroshige's series of prints "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji" from 1952. The impressionistic use of color pays homage to the Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh's painting "Bridge in the Rain after Hiroshige" from 1887.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Central Kitsap School District.
