About the Artwork
‘Room Full of Blues’ is a painting by artist Liza vonRosenstiel. It was created during a painting fellowship in Taos, NM. The artist uses rich blue hues and a simple composition to depict and confront her feelings of being adrift and disconnected. She notes, “I didn’t know anyone and went for days without speaking to anyone. I listed to “The Blues” on the radio. I often sat at the window, at night, watching the moon.”
