About the Artwork
Alders at the Lakes is a watercolor painting by artist Linda Okazaki, and is inspired by the scenery she encountered hiking through the woods along the Elwha River in the Olympic mountains. Describing her process of composing this piece, the artist notes: "It is a subtle effect from one's memory where impressions of light, color, atmosphere and mood mix together and an idea is resolved into a painting."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Grapeview School District.
