Invisible Frontiers, 1991

Karen Guzak
American (born 1939)

Location: Lakeridge Elementary, Seattle

About the Artwork

Artist Karen Guzak composed Invisible Frontiers using energetic gestures to portray an imagined microscopic world. Created by combining traditional printmaking techniques with computer drawing technology, Guzak notes that "the mark of the machine and the mark of the hand are superimposed to create lively, visual tapestries of the interface between art and science."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Renton School District.
