Upholding the Chinese Tradition is part of a series of found-object sculptures by artist Barbara Barnes Allen. The series is inspired by archeological structures and temples from around the world. Comprised of coins, jewelry, trinkets, and other materials, this piece presents richly suggestive imagery and symbols.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with North Kitsap School District.
