Little Three, 1993

James Entz
American (born 1957)

Location: Thurgood Marshall Elementary, Seattle

About the Artwork

Created by layering dozens of colors of acrylic paint, which the artist James Entz then carved into, the cross sectional layers of Little Three mimic and reference natural topography and the rings of a tree. This method reveals the process of construction; a "meditation on the process of art-making."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Seattle Public Schools.
