About the Artwork
Artist Hugh Webb created the painting Case/Vase using contrasting panels and found objects. The objects include a vase, toy ball, and tree branches wrapped in fabric. It is part of a body of work inspired by his travels in the Midwest and Rocky Mountains. He notes, "The little blue panel represent the Western sky. The green panel comes from a wonderful field of wildflowers I saw in Yellowstone Park. The bouquet of sticks is derived from a ceremonial commemorative display I saw at the Little Big Horn Battlefield."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Prosser School District.
