Kaleidoscape in 12-Part Harmony, 2012

American (born 1953)
Location: Lakeridge Middle School, Bonney Lake
About the Artwork
Artist Roger Nachman's Kaleidoscape in 12-Part Harmony is comprised of twelve abstract windows, made of dichroic and colored glass. Dichroic glass contains multiple colors that change depending on light and the viewer's position. The imagery, flow of color, texture, and forms in the windows are meant to suggest music. Nachman notes, "The school's focus on art and music was an inspiration in the design, encouraging the students to look beyond the literal and to recognize beauty in simple 'marks' on a page."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Sumner-Bonney Lake School District.
