About the Artwork
The Particle Adventure is a conceptual site-specific artwork by artist Laura Brodax comprised of screen printed window panels installed on all four levels of the Math and Sciences building. The piece depicts the interaction of particles in a Bubble Chamber, used by physicists to study the nature of matter. Brodax sees this imagery as a symbol for Seattle Central's community, noting "it is a grouping of a diverse population in constant flux and change, fundamentals of matter and force."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Seattle Central College.
About the Artist
Seattle-based artist Laura Brodax creates publicly-sited ceramic and mosaic installations that feature photographic and figurative imagery. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in ceramic art from the University of Washington in Seattle.
