About the Artwork
City of Windows is part of a series of quilts called "Windows and Storylines" by artist Jeannette Meyer. This series explores personal narratives and differing points of view. Meyer notes "windows, which both contain and frame stories, fascinate me." Created from hand-dyed fabrics, the textured and colorful surface was created by printing and re-dying blocks of fabrics. The storylines are represented by the quilted stitching, made from multicolored thread.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Department of Transportation.
