About the Artwork

353/Helix is an abstract sculpture by artist Kim Singhrs. Its shape is like a flattened ribbon, folded over itself. It is also like a flattened helix or spiral shape. Singhrs notes, "As the front surface (stainless steel) is folded over, a darker surface (Copenhagen blue porcelain enamel) is revealed."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Mansfield School District.

About the Artist

Artist Kim Singhrs creates abstract geometric sculptures.
Singhrs served as a professor for the School of Architecture at Washington State University in Pullman, Eastern Washington. He taught architectural graphics, animation, and photography. He received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communications and Fine Art, as well as a Master of Fine Arts degree from Washington State University.
