About the Artwork

Artist Susan MacLeod created the playful sculptural painting Three Sonics. The SuperSonics were Seattle's pro basketball team from 1967 until 2008. This piece is comprised of portraits of three players, each with a strong and unique expression of concentration. She sewed the figures between layers of plastic and stuffed them with batting to make the artwork three-dimensional.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Department of Children, Youth, and Families.
