Clam Diggers #17 is part of artist Robert Feasley's series of portraits of people at the seashore. He notes, "Clam diggers are of all ages. They come in all shapes and sizes, and it is an activity in which men and women are equal partners."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Mount Vernon School District.

About the Artist

Late artist Robert Feasley (1926-2013) served as Professor of Art at Washington State University in Pullman, Eastern Washington. He received Bachelor of Science and Master of Fine Arts degrees from the University of Oregon in Eugene.
