About the Artist

Theodore Waddell is a Montana-based artist, teacher, illustrator, and rancher. The scenes of life in the American west inspire his expressive paintings and sculptures. After serving in the US Army, he received a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Montana College in Billings. He received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Wayne State University in Michigan in 1968. He previously taught at the University of Montana in Missoula. He has illustrated and published several books, including a series of childrens stories and the illustrated story of his childhood in Montana.
