Ermina Street is a realist landscape painting by artist William Elston. He describes this composition as a study in light, balance, and the passage of time. He notes, "The subtle relationship that exists between a location and my evocation of that place in paint has a philosophical interest to me."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Creston School District.

About the Artist

Spokane, Eastern Washington-based artist William Elston creates figurative paintings of rural and urban landscapes. He painted many of his artworks "en plein air", painted on location outdoors.

Born in Idaho and raised near Spokane, Elston received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Fort Wright College in Spokane in 1975. He has taught and guest lectured at Fort Wright College, Whitworth College in Spokane, Eastern Washington University in Cheney, the University of Washington in Seattle, and Gage Academy of Art in Seattle, among other institutions.
