About the Artwork

Artist Jane Orleman painted Moon Creeper as part of 44 artworks she made in the year leading up to her 40th birthday. She notes, "All of the paintings done in that year incorporated the moon and stars into the imagery. My thought was to celebrate the feminine aspect of my life."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Washington State Arts Commission.

About the Artist

Artist Jane Orleman creates paintings that explore psychological reality through symbolic imagery. Describing her intuitive creative process, Orleman notes "my choice of symbols and colors and the inner world that I explore all combine to express my physical, emotional and spiritual life experiences." She lives and works in Ellensburg, Central Washington.
