About the Artwork
Triple-tiered, Deci-winged, Color Catcher is a vibrant fabric sculpture created by artist Louise Kodis. She constructed the nylon fabric banners using a central cylinder with two tiers of streamers. She attached wing-like segments radiating out of the center cylinder. She supported the fabric using a hidden structure made from metal rings and wooden dowels.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Spokane Public Schools.
About the Artist
Spokane, Eastern Washington-based artist Louise Kodis creates wall hangings and installations made from colorful textiles.
Kodis studied at the San Francisco Art Institute in California. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington State University in Pullman, Eastern Washington, in 1964.
