Untitled is a pastel drawing created by artist John Clearly. This piece is part of a body of work that explores measurement and diagrams as "a formal and expressive consideration." In this piece, he created a measured, geometric composition. He balanced color relationships in an expressive way.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Washington State Arts Commission.

About the Artist

Maryland-based artist and professor John Cleary creates paintings, drawings, and illustrations. He is Professor Emeritus at Salisbury University (formerly Salisbury State College) in Maryland, where he has taught since 1975. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Pennsylvania State University. He received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1974.
