About the Artwork
Urban Dudes is a drawing by artist Christine Puskas-Dresner. The composition features a frontier scene where rural agriculture and urban growth collide. The evolving history of California's farming industry inspired her imagery. Puskas-Dresner notes, "There are many people yet living that are striving to maintain their piece of tradition. The cowboy reflects the work, courage and exploration it took to create America… Many times in order to retain flourishing farms, these urban dudes must maintain their farms while simultaneously working a city job."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Hockinson School District.
