About the Artwork
A Stitch in Time by artist Jim Pridgeon is a concept-based installation of objects that is like a portal or a time capsule. Two forty-foot periscopes run from the school commons to the school's attic. If you look through the periscopes, you will see two different groups of objects. One contains suspended band instruments, band hats, classroom clocks, and more. The other one contains historic sports equipment, football helmets, locker parts, and more. Pridgeon used historic items from Franklin High School for the installations.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Seattle Public Schools.
