About the Artwork

Late artist Jackie Watson created Large Bag with Eggs using an ink resist technique. In this painting method, she blocked out areas of color using water-soluble paints. She then filled the entire image with India ink. Once everything dried, she ran the painting under water, which dissolved the areas protected by paints. She then filled in the protected areas with colorful paints to complete the composition.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Central Kitsap School District.
