About the Artwork

Artist Ken Spiering constructed ‘Silent Migration’ by airbrushing cloth that is sewn over wooden forms. The Elk figures combine painting and sculpture to play with the viewer’s sense of space. This piece acts as a “window to the outdoors,” and sparks the viewer's imagination about the natural world.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with West Valley School District, Yakima.
