Artist Tom Morandi created Passage for Cascadia Technical Academy. The curved archway greets students and teachers entering through the courtyard. The top of the arch features a double curve that suggests the bends of a river and other natural curves.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Evergreen School District.

About the Artist

Oregon-based artist Tom Morandi creates figurative and abstract sculptures for public spaces.
Morandi is Professor Emeritus of Art at Oregon State University in Corvallis, where he taught from 1989 to 2011. He previously served as professor of art at Eastern Oregon State University in La Grande, Oregon. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1966. He received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Ohio University in 1971.
