About the Artwork
Artist Tom Jay created Ravens for Chimacum High School on the Olympic Peninsula. The three sculpted ravens are bronze, each with a unique pose. Two of the birds appear to fly, while one perches on a wooden beam. Ravens are a significant part of the culture, history, and environment of the Northwest.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Chimacum School District.
About the Artist
Artist Tom Jay (1943-2019) was a Northwest sculptor, poet, and master bronze caster. He received a Master of Fine Art degree in 1969 from the University of Washington in Seattle. He established Riverdog Fine Arts Foundry, and constructed casting facilities for Seattle University and the University of Washington.
