About the Artwork

Artist Donald Barrie created Mural of Mt. Adams for White Swan High School, in Yakima County, Central Washington. Mount Adams is the second highest mountain in Washington State (after Mount Rainier) and is located in South Central Washington. It also overlooks the Yakima Valley and the high school. The mountain is named for John Adams, the second president of the United States.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Mount Adams School District.

About the Artist

Realist painter and muralist Donald Barrie captures the subtle details and formal relationships found in city scenes and sweeping landscapes. A faculty member at Seattle Central College, and founder of the Pelican Bay Artists' Cooperative. Barrie lives and works in Seattle, Washington.
