Fabric Banner Hangings is a textile installation by artist Joellen Benjamin-Fay. It is comprised of seven graphic banners. The artist created each colorful abstract banner by layering and sewing contrasting colors of dyed cotton canvas.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Washington State Arts Commission.

About the Artist

Seattle-based artist Joellen Benjamin-Fay creates textile wall hangings and banners using a variety of fabrics and fibers. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Washington University in Bellingham in 1963. She received a master's degree from the University of Washington in 1971.
