About the Artwork
The Innocent is a watercolor painting by artist Jennifer Stabler-Holland. It is part of her series of artworks featuring white animals to symbolize vulnerability. She notes, "In this particular piece the animals are running; on one level they are animals, or nature, running from humankind, or environmental destruction. On another level, the white animals symbolize innocence in a world where innocence is quickly lost and/or is no longer upheld as a positive quality."
